The unit has a rolling 20 file buffer, therefore up to 20 sessions can be recorded.
If the battery runs out during a session will I loose all data?
No. The unit continuously writes data to the storage media, so if the unit shuts down unexpectedly, data for the session will still be saved and available for later download.
What is the difference between NX-Net and HotSpot mode?
NX-Net mode will place the unit in a mode to connect to a router, typically when downloading from multiple units, Hot spot mode is for connecting a single to the PC to download a file/session.
Can I use the unit to measure my cycling or running sessions?
The MAKO unit is specifically designed for use in Rowing and Canoeing, including optimised position of the GPS antenna and importantly the development of a custom algorithm for the synchronisation of the GPS and IMU data. If the two data sets do not meet certain criteria during the synchronisation process no CSV output file will be produced.

Nautilus Solutions Software
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use Session Download or Concurrent Download?
Both pieces of software will download files from the MAKO hardware. Session Download connects to units individually in ‘Hot Spot’ mode and allows the user to select a file to download. Concurrent Downloader requires the NX-Net router, the computer needs to be connected to the router and the MAKO units need to be placed into NX-Net mode to also connect to the router. Concurrent Download, allows the user to download files from multiple units, using the date/time function.
How do I know if I have the most recent software?
Software updates will be posted to the file Download page (https://nautilusgps.tech/support/file-download)
Will the software ‘run’ on my MAC or Chrome Book?
Unfortunately no. All our current software is developed for use on a PC running either Windows 10 or 11
Am I able to upgrade the MAKO’s firmware?
Yes you can, place the MAKO unit in NX-Update mode, select the unit in your PC’s wireless adapters, (similiar to Hot Spot mode) and then run the NX-OTA update software.
